Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using the PSIMA Membership Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not register or use the platform.

2. Membership Eligibility

Membership categories and eligibility:

  • Full Member: Malaysian citizens with a degree or postgraduate qualification in Psychology, or registered with the Malaysian Board of Psychologists
  • Foreign Member: Non-Malaysian citizens with a degree in Psychology or equivalent professional qualification
  • Associate Member: Individuals with an interest in the psychology field, no formal qualification required
  • Student Member: Currently enrolled students in a psychology programme with valid student identification

3. Application Process

All membership applications are subject to review and approval by the PSIMA Membership Committee. PSIMA reserves the right to approve or reject any application at its discretion. A minimum of 2 out of 3 committee approvals is required.

Applicants must provide accurate and truthful information. Providing false or misleading information may result in rejection or revocation of membership.

4. Membership Fees

Current annual membership fees:

Full Member: RM 40/year + RM 25 management fee (all payments)

Foreign Member: RM 120/year + RM 25 management fee (all payments)

Associate Member: RM 30/year + RM 25 management fee (all payments)

Student Member: RM 15/year + RM 25 management fee (all payments)

Fees are non-refundable once payment has been processed. PSIMA reserves the right to revise fees with prior notice to members.

5. Membership Duration & Renewal

  • Membership is valid for one year from the date of payment confirmation
  • Members will be notified before membership expiry
  • Failure to renew within the specified period will result in membership lapse
  • Lifetime memberships are granted at the discretion of PSIMA and do not require annual renewal

6. Member Rights & Privileges

  • Access to the PSIMA member portal and directory
  • Official membership certificate
  • Participation in PSIMA events and activities
  • Voting rights in AGM (Full and Foreign members only)
  • Eligibility to hold committee positions (Full members only)
  • Join PSIMA committees and working groups

7. Member Obligations

As a PSIMA member, you agree to:

  • Uphold the constitution and objectives of PSIMA
  • Maintain professional conduct and ethical standards
  • Keep your profile and contact information up to date
  • Pay membership fees on time
  • Not misuse the PSIMA name, logo, or membership for unauthorised purposes
  • Respect the confidentiality of other members' information

8. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must notify PSIMA immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account. PSIMA is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised use of your account.

9. Termination of Membership

PSIMA reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership if a member:

  • Violates these Terms and Conditions
  • Engages in conduct detrimental to PSIMA's reputation
  • Provides false or misleading information
  • Fails to pay membership fees after due notice

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the PSIMA Membership Portal, including but not limited to logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of PSIMA and protected by intellectual property laws. Members may not reproduce or distribute any content without prior written consent.

11. Limitation of Liability

PSIMA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the membership portal. The platform is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.

13. Changes to Terms

PSIMA reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
